...SELFISH SOUTH AFRICANS DELIBERATELY CREATES UNEMPLOYMENT...
I KNOW THAT THIS OPEN LETTER IS GOING TO TOUCH AND OPEN WOUNDS BUT I AM NOT GOING TO BE APOLOGETIC FOR BEING HONEST AND TRUE ABOUT THE SITUATION THAT AFFECTS US DAILY. SOMEBODY NEEDED TO SAY IT AND I AM SAYING IT AS IT IS
South Africa is said to be one of the countries with the highest unemployment rate in the world. There are many reasons given by Government, Politicians, Corporate World, the Powers that Be, etc. in justifications of this bad situation but I do not buy some of the reasons given. How can we claim that we have a serious unemployment challenge as a country and as people yet we are the very ones who create this problem in the first place? I believe that unemployment is deliberately created as part of the vehicles used to sustain the status quo where the richer becomes richer and the poor remains poorer…!
Most unemployed South Africans are in that situation because some of those who are employed are the selfish bunch who cares only for themselves and those connected to them. This selfish bunch is made up of hypocrites of note who mostly claim to care for others yet they do the exact opposite. These privileged lot are found everywhere across our Nation and they live with us because they are part of us. This lot play on the emotions of the unemployed, poor and hungry with enforced indoctrination that forces them to accept unacceptable situations and conditions. Let me give practical examples of my claims and valid reasons as to why I passionately disapprove our current governance system as follows:
GOVERNMENT
Let me start right at the top with the number of citizen of this country. The Honourable President of South Africa is directly and indirectly holding more than one job which means he earns more than one salary every month. I challenge and call on the President as the leader of this country to be exemplary and disclose as to how many salaries does he get come month end? If the President sees nothing wrong is government spending over R200m not building but on renovating his home, it is highly unlikely that the President would consider holding more than one job and earning more than one salaries whilst at the same time complaining about unemployment. I extend the same challenge and call onto the President’s executive, followed by all government employees accordingly…?
If honest and true, you will realize the fact that starting with the President and going right through the executive to all government structures, people are holding more than one job at a time (earning more than one salary at a time) yet they claim to be committed to getting rid of unemployment. Some people in government (e.g. the President) are politically deployed by their political parties whilst occupying other paying and or remunerating positions within respective political parties. These positions come and go with salaries, remunerations and packages that ensure a much better life to those occupying them despite claims that these positions are voluntary. This is over and above the highest level of nepotism practiced by the very people who exhibit the highest level of hypocrisy…!
CORPORATE SOUTH AFRICA
Most corporate executives enjoy holding more than one appointed directorship in different organizations/companies. The interesting but disturbing part is the fact that some of these directors hold these positions and claim to pay tax accordingly whereas the truth is that, some of them are extremely dishonest in declaring all their dividends, salaries, remunerations, etc. These executives are defenders and leaders of this rotten system and therefore see nothing wrong with this prevailing right through their organizations/companies. Those who deny this are mostly beneficiaries of this system who are obsessed with being selfish and care less of the majority people in this country who happen to be unemployed, poor and hungry…!
ENTERTAINMENT SOUTH AFRICA
This is the most in the face industry to most South Africans; so many people will be able to easily relate to my view in this regard. When one peruses through our entertainment, arts and culture industries, you would be forgiven to be misled and think that only a few people are talented and the others are not. This industry recycles positions and people are occupying more than one job with more than one salary earnings a month. This is where one voice and one face are linked to a radio show, a radio advert, a radio news bulletin; a television show, a television advert, a television news bulletin, etc. Musicians, Actors, etc. are radio and television presenters, producers, print media columnists, etc. and beneficiaries of all this brutal system expect us to turn a blind eye to all this unfairness…! Why…?
RELIGIOUS SOUTH AFRICA
If anyone thought this is part of our society that would not be involved in this inhumane and brutal system, I suggest they better think again. Some religious leaders and members of different religions are comfortably having more than one job (earning more than one salary a month), happily depriving the unemployed opportunities to earn a living whilst claiming and preaching holier than thou sentiments. These men and women of the cloth expect to be believed to be the caring lot yet they rather give handouts to the unemployed, poor and hungry rather than sharing with them equal opportunities. Some of them are fighting tooth and nail for business and job opportunities with the very unemployed, poor and hungry…!
CONCLUSION
I only gave a few examples but I suspect that you have many more flowing through your mind as you go through this document. I am not by any means complaining let alone jealous of anyone but I am challenging this rotten system that is safely guarded and over protected by its beneficiaries who are mostly comfortable enough to sustain the status quo. Given a chance and if I had all the necessary powers, I would insist on a one person one job employment policy until the country has zero unemployment. I am highlighting this highest level of hypocrisy that we seem comfortable with as a Society, as a Nation and as a Country, perhaps even as a Continent if not the whole world. As a Mosarwa (Bushman) I was born in a very equal family and grew up in a very equal community where everyone was equally important, mattered and deserved equal opportunities. I dream of a society in which all people truly love and care for each other enough to never let anyone suffer or starve…!
